The event, organized by the Chengdu Municipal Internet Information Office, aimed to unveil the cultural and technological marvels of Chengdu and Sichuan.
The launching ceremony of the 2023 China International Media Theme Interview "A Date with China: Meet Sichuan” took place on May 19 at Dong'an Lake Sports Park. This event, guided by the Network Communication Bureau of the Cyberspace Administration of China, showcased the dynamic practice of the Communist Party of China leading the people in promoting high-quality development and China's modernization. Hosted by China Daily and the Sichuan Provincial Internet Information Office, and organized by the Chengdu Municipal Internet Information Office, the event brought together reporters from various media outlets to visit Chengdu and share China's story, focusing on topics such as civilizational exchanges, economic mutual benefit, and the "Belt and Road" initiative.
Dr. Sharma and the media team embarked on a series of visits and activities, including exploring the architecture and preparations for the upcoming 31st Summer Universiade at Dong'an Lake Sports Park. They also had the opportunity to experience the vitality and sports charm of the city by visiting the gymnastics venue, media seats in the gymnasium, and the media interview room.During the subsequent five-day activities, the delegation visited various notable places in Chengdu, including the Chengdu International Railway Port, Sichuan Energy Internet Research Institute of Tsinghua University, Giant Panda Breeding Research Base, Tianfu Granary National Modern Agricultural Industrial Park, Wuhou Temple, Jinsha Site Museum, Kuanzhai Alley, and Dujiangyan Water Conservancy Project. These visits aimed to showcase the youthfulness and luck of the city, the richness of the Tianfu region, and the historical significance of the journey, providing the world with a better understanding of Chengdu, Sichuan, and China.
Dr. Sharma's official visit to Chengdu was remarkable, offering unique experiences. They had the opportunity to observe adorable pandas up close at the Giant Panda Breeding Research Base and were amazed by innovative energy technology projects at the Sichuan Energy Internet Research Institute.
